AB-Calgary: Junior Java Developer * Ref # 5267

PrecisionERP is a North American leader in providing contract based services to ERP markets including SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle and JD Edwards.

We are seeking a Junior Java Developer for a permanent role in our client's Calgary office. The successful candidate will be responsible for application support, development of new features, optimization, improvement and bug fixing of existing functionalities, and troubleshooting issues in production.

The following capabilities are required:
1.Strong Java 1.4 foundation (Sun Certified Java Programmer and other certifications - please bring your original score results).
2. Ability to write very good algorithms and to apply best practices in software development (DRY, orthogonality, design patterns, testing strategies, etc)
3.Openness to use principles of Agile Methodology such as test first development, continuous integration and peer reviews/programming.
4.Eclipse 3.x (or other Java IDE like Netbeans, Intellij IDEA, etc)
5.Linux or Unix basic concepts (permissions, user groups)
6.JDBC and/or Hibernate experience
7.Socket and/or RMI programming experience
8.RDBMS experience (DB2, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc)

University degree in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred.
